The rest of our road trip

So the sixth day of our trip we were going to try and hit some of the church sites but Eme had other ideas and it took us forever to get her to take a nap. So we finally headed out about 3 and were able to go meet up with one of Jeremy's old roommates when we lived in Turnberry. He and his wife are living out there while he attends medical school and they had just had a baby the day before. They were kind enough to let us come visit. After that we headed down to a popular spot in KC called the Plaza. On the way there in started raining. Not this isn't your average everyday summer rain in Utah, this is walk two feet from the car to the restaurant and you are soaked. Well, nevertheless we made it to the restaurant in one piece. We did enjoy some good BBQ and after dinner the weather was great to so went to hang out at the fountain and take some pics. Unfortunately, our camera batteries died so I will have to post some of those pictures after I get them from Daisie (hint, hint!). The next day we said goodbye to the Hunsakers and went to the local church sites. I had been there before but going with Jeremy and Eme makes it much more fun. Eme was quite the entertainer for the missionaries that were there. After that we drove up to Omaha to stay with Kyle and Janel. We got in pretty late so we just hang out that night. The next day we went to see some more church sites (yes, by this time Eme was getting kind of bored of it but we liked it), ate some yummy food at Pepper Jaks, got a tour of Creighton University (where my bro is going to Law School) and watched the U game. All and all a great day. The next day was Sunday so we did another church site, saw the Winter Quarters Temple and went to church. After church, Janel cooked us a fabulous dinner (I still need to get that recipe!). The rest of that day was pretty relaxing. The following day was Labor Day so we decided to hit the local water park called Coco Keys. Now, this is not your average water park, it is all indoors! It was a lot of fun. We let Eme be a little dare devil again, and let her go down the water slides by herself. O.K. they are just the baby slides and she had a life jacket on but it still seemed like a big step to me. She loved the lazy river and fell asleep while her and I were in a tube floating around and around. It was awesome! So our last day in Omaha had arrived and we saved the best for last because we went to the famous Omaha Zoo. Famous to us cause Kyle and Janel have said how awesome it is and that no matter what we just had to go and it did not disappoint. Eme didn't last too long in her stroller, so we had to leash her up and she loved walking around and seeing the animals. I kept thinking she looked like a little girl going to school with her overalls and little backpack leash. It made me a little sad to see how big she has gotten. At least school is a couple years away. So after the "famous" zoo we headed back to Kyle and Janel's, packed up all of our stuff and went to eat at Quaker Steak and Lube before we headed out of town. This was another must by my brother. Jeremy and I had eaten at one back east so we knew it was good. After Jer stuffed himself with wings, we said our goodbyes and headed down the road. We once again drove till we were tired which was somewhere in Wyoming and then made it home at 10:30 the next morning. It was such a fun trip. Thanks to the Hunsakers and the Smiths for showing us a great time! We love and miss you guys!
